FEA Appreciation Class provides a brief overview of finite Element Analysis (FEA). The objective of this course is to create an understanding of FEA standard workflow and what to expect out of the FEA process. Lecture topics and workshop tutorial are carefully created, based on our trainers’ long years of experience with mentoring engineers, to maximize FEA awareness of the participants.
Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for Engineers, Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors and Students who want to get exposure to FEA.
Prerequisites
No FEA experience is required. However, basic computer skills and an understanding of engineering principles will ensure the maximum learning opportunity.
Course Level
Beginners
Duration
1 Day
Learn how to run FEMAP with NX Nastran to solve engineering problems. Detailed instruction is given on the FEMAP pre/post environment with an emphasis on good FEA modeling practices. NX Nastran is the solver used in this course and modeling techniques applicable in this environment are covered.
Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for engineers who want to use FEMAP for pre/post process structural (linear and non-linear), dynamic, and thermal simulations with a commercial FEA solver. The course will also cover the basics of NX Nastran and modeling of “real world” scenarios. Engineers working in the aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, electronic packaging Industries, and government organizations will benefit from this course.
Prerequisites
No FEA experience is required. However, basic computer skills and an understanding of engineering principles will ensure the maximum learning opportunity.

FEMAP 201 provides an in-depth examination of some of the more advanced features of FEMAP. Topics covered in this class include geometry repair & preparation, mapped meshing, hex meshing, using data surfaces for complex loading and boundary conditions, advanced grouping operations, operations on results, and overview of the API.
Who Should Attend
This course is recommended for engineers who want to expand their knowledge and increase their modeling efficiency in FEMAP. The techniques taught will help improve modeling speed, as well as, quality of the overall meshes and FEA results. The class is also recommended for long time FEMAP users that may not be aware of new capabilities or new modeling methodologies inside FEMAP.
Prerequisites
FEMAP 101 or equivalent experience in the use of FEMAP

This Course introduces the dynamic capabilities available in NX Nastran. It covers the fundamental methods for solving for dynamic response, focusing on modal analysis. There is an emphasis on practical applications and enhancing the students’ engineering judgment with respect to dynamic response. The fundamentals of structural dynamics theory are reviewed and the numerical methods used to solve them are presented. The course covers the linear dynamic response capabilities of NX Nastran, including normal modes analysis, transient and frequency response, residual vectors, and enforced motion. The class is focused on NX Nastran and most of the material applies independently of pre- or postprocessor.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for finite element analysts who will be using NX Nastran to perform dynamic analyses to predict structural behavior under steady state and transient conditions.
Prerequisites
Required courses- Femap Basic Training (Femap 101).
